Hello people!

I just decided to get into the series, and I'm open to suggestions over which M&M game should I start with (have all games of this series, except M&M 9).

I don't mind old graphics or interface, my only objection is that M&M 1 is just too outdated for me.
Start with MM3, then MM4+5(World of Xeen), MM6, MM7, MM8.
Swords of Xeen uses the same engine as World of Xeen, play it directly after MM4+5 or later depending on whether you want a change.

There are basically three styles among the first 8 MM games. MM1 and 2 play very similar, MM 3-5 play very similar, and MM 6-8 play very similar. There are differences (class related skill caps present in 7 and 8 are not present in 6), but once you get familiar with one, then the others within the same style will be familiar.

I suggest playing them in order within each style, but play the styles in the order you wish. Since MM 1 is outside your range, then skip MM 2 as well.
When you play World of Xeen, I recommend playing Clouds through before going to the Darkside. In other words, until you've defeated Lord Xeen and seen the corresponding ending, don't activate any of the pyramids. The thing is, on the Darkside, everything is worth so much experience that it is quite easy to reach levels at which Clouds is no longer a challenge. I happen to like Warrior difficulty for World of Xeen so that physical attacks don't become too powerful, but the game can be enjoyed on either setting.

Also, Swords of Xeen is *not* a good starting point. If you do choose to play it, play on Adventurer difficulty (as the game has some balance issues, so reducing the difficulty is a good idea to mitigate difficulty spikes), and treat it as a buggy game, saving early, often, and in multiple slots.
If you want easy and user friendly 3 or 4 is the best start.
If you want something more challenging start with 1. 2 improves on 1 in most respects, but assumes you start with an imported party of lvl 7 characters.
Thanks people, I decided to start with 3.
