Hey, so I was wondering what would be considered best for a first-time playthrough, Light or Dark? Magic-wise, the Dark spells look fun, between all the nukes and some fun stuff like Pain Reflection, Vampiric Weapon, and Reanimate and I like that you can turn your Sorc into a Lich. But on the other side, Light seems a bit less fun, but more versatile, with the mega buffs, paralyze, etc. Story-wise I don't have much preference either way (unless one's significantly worse for a first playthrough for some reason), so it mostly comes down to the spells.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm running the base party: Knight, Thief, Cleric, Sorcerer.

Dark was always more fun for me, and fighting your way through Celeste is a bit les annoying then fighting through the pit. You'll get your magic dispelled over and over but at least you won't be slaughtered by sharpmetal and dragons breath. I've always prefered nukes to buffs in Might and Magic. For me the only real buffs it would be nice to use are Bless, Heroism and elemental protection.

Ended up going Dark. So, now that I've made an enemy of Bracada, I'll get attacked on site, yeah? But I can still use the services there, right? Good thing I just bought Fly and Invisibility.

Maybe Wizards from Bracada do not like you, when you choose evil side, but you are able to explore dark underworld, it was always so fun for me. Dark side has more fun quests :) Just go to promote your knight or paladin :) I never pick good side.
I think it's only one game, when I have no problem with picking evil and do wrong stuff.
Evil was a good choice :P
About how tough are the angels that guard Celeste and about how tough is it to get to Nighon? (I'm lv. 19, first promotion) I was thinking it might be a good idea to rush the Arcomage quest, the gold'll let me pick up some skill training I need and buy a few spells. After that I'll probably do the Knight and Priest second promotions, they don't seem very hard. (Although on the other hand it might be good to go for Dark Magic immediately, The Breeding Zone sounds tough, though)

EDIT: Well, the Black Knight quest was hilariously easy, so now I've got that down. So everyone's lv. 20 now, except for my Black Knight who's lv. 22.

Dark Magic is the greatest!! Rush for it! :) And yes - The Breeding Zone is crazy hard (at least for me). I sugest to level up more before starting doing this quest :)

Good luck! :)
I'm gonna run the Promotion Quests before I head to the Breeding Zonee. Priest of Dark and Dark Knight were both pathetically easy. Assassin and Lich will probably be harder, but at least they're both based in Celeste. Now to figure out how to get there.

EDIT: Assassin done! (Well, I have to return to Dayja, but yeah). These 2nd Tier Promotion quests have been really easy so far. Lich seems potentially hard, though. Worth it to turn in a Lich. Protip: Escaping Celeste is really easy if you have Fly. All you have to do is cast Fly and jump down a hole. Feather Fall would work too but be less fun.

Grats! :) Now the hardest - Lich :) Escaping from Celeste is easier than from the Pit. You can jump into lava river, but it doesn.t work the same :P
Personally i found the light side to be easier to play, especially that 1 quest where you have to run through a maze, the light side maze is SO MUCH easier
The Wall of Mists... Er, Walls of Mist is definitely harder. Which is refreshing! The promotions for Black Knight, Cleric of Dark, and Assassin were pathetically easy. I was doing fine as long as my invisibility held, but then it ran out and there were enemies nearby so I couldn't recast. At least I can kill things, unlike on the Light side!

Creatures of Light are able to killing to. And do it and do it again. Angels are like B.A. from The A-Team - first fighting, kicking your a**, then asking why are you here :) They just have brighter colours ;-)

I was talking specifically about the Walls of Mist quest though, on the Light side you have to make it through without killing anything. Which... actually isn't really that bad, just annoying.

Whew, Breeding Zone down. I found the easiest way to take out the Behemoths was to get them stuck in a thin hallway and pick them off. Don't have much money at the moment, so I could only afford to learn Reanimate. My plan now is to head to Nighon. It's the last tavern I need to win Arcomage in, and I have a lot of skills to train and levels to gain with that 100,000 gold reward. And spells to learn, of course.

Man, Invisibility really makes everything better, yeah? Well, except the Breeding Zone. But with Invisibility I was able to make it to Nighon without too much effort. While I was there, I Mastered Water and beat the Tavern in Arcomage. It's a shame the artifacts from the Arcomage quest are mostly useless. I decided to use the 100,000 gold to splurge on my Lich (after making sure everyone was full leveled). I Grandmastered Water and Air, Experted and then Mastered Dark, and bought: Town Portal, Ice Blast, Lloyd's Beacon, Inferno, Starburst, Shrapmetal, Enchant Weapon, and Vampiric Weapon. And now I'm out of money again. Easy come, easy go. >.>

So, does anyone have a suggestion for a good way of making money? Are the bounty hunts worth doing?

EDIT: And now I've GM'd Dark. Now if only Dark spells weren't so expensive. >.>

I hope that you have merchant skill maxed, right? It really helps with money.

Well breeding zone is REALLY hard actually, also i don't use bugs and pathing deffects in teh game, so i will take the beomoths head on, which made it... just well you know how they are.

While mist is really easy, its actually just a 5min dungeon run through if you know what you're doing.
