The most annoying spell that there seems no defence for.
I can get all sorts of things to prevent Insanity Stoning Sleep etc bit I have found nothing to prevent curse condition.

My druid is master earth L12, tried the protection from magic spell , instantly all 4 characters are cursed when surrounded by harpies, skeletons.

The only thing that helps is giving each character heaps of restoration potions but they don't last forever.
Teleporting out fails most times.

Very annoying, any ideas ?

Lambetha
The biggest problem is Harpy Witcxh. Kill those as soon as possible, enter combat mode as soon as you see one and nuke with your har4dest hitting spells. You might reload if your party became cursed.

Harpy Hag has a chance to curse on touch and is a much lesser threat than Witch.

The only skeleton who can curse - Skeleton Lord. Unlike Harpy Witches, he curses only one party member at a time (and not always).

Also, you can keep fighting while cursed and then heal in nearby temple, fully restoring your HP and SP.

There [i]is [i]a remove curse spell. See if you can find it somewhere and only go to the area after you have it.

Why are you surrounded? They are annoying, but weak. Taking them out from a distance minimizes the problem. Meteors doesn't do well with flying creatures. But Starburst can take out quite a few.
And you have potions and scrolls to clear the curse on the Wizard or Druid that has teleportation. Use the player just before the Wizard comes up to cleanse the Wizard. Then the Wizard should be ready to teleport when he/she is high lighted on the next move.
IIRC, protection from magic helps with preventing being cursed. The protection from magic is listed with the fire, electricity, cold, and poison stats per character. However, because "protection from magic" is a stat its effect is only gradually increased after a while. I think it's the same numerical bonus as what is reported here for INT, though the formula itself might be different.

I thought there was an item (enchanted) that protected from curse. I can't seem to find anything though.

EDIT *spoiler*: So maybe increase the protection from magic stat permanently? The Seer gives a pilgrimage quest every month to a shrine which increases the relevant stat +10. From January to December they are in order as the seven attributes and then the five protections. That means December is for increasing the protection from magic. For example, after ten years that's an additional 100 points for everyone (alive?). Plus whatever barrels of liquid for attributes, or cauldrons of magic, that are found after a map respawns (from 3 months to maybe a year depending on the map).

EDIT 2 *spoiler*: From what I heard from a friend, one way to make a year go by fast is to visit a castle (like Ironfist) when reputation is less than average. Or it might have to be lower than that. One year of jail time is the consequence for showing up at a castle with such a low reputation. Hiring gypsies or pirates or anybody that decreases reputation is a quick alternative to killing peasants. Of course, that's only good for focusing on one stat: get out, see Seer, pray at one shrine, go back to jail for a year. Traveling by foot from one map to another generally takes five days, so to make a month go by faster just step back and forth over the map borders (when loaded with lots of food to prevent starving).

Unfortunately, there are no such items. Items can give you immunity only to following 6 conditions: Sleep, Poison, Disease, Insanity, Paralyze, Stone.
Best tip is just to run or fly away as soon as you spot harpies, get some distance, and hammer them with arrows and spells.

You get +10 on the first increase from the altar. Each visit (at the appropriate time, with the seer puilgrimage given for that month), you get +3.
Harpies, including Witches can be affected by Mass Curse.
Also try Turn to Stone, Paralyze (if you can afford the SP cost or have a Wand with that spell). Charm, Feeblemind, and Mass Fear could also be useful here. Many of the spells that seemingly don't have a use but can successfully distract the Harpy Witches from using that Mass Curse spell can be used.

It may also be worth keeping a few Restoration potions handy. Remove Curse can fail while Cursed, Remove Curse scrolls can fail while Cursed. Potions do not fail, and Restoration cures Cursed.

According to Grayface's Might and Magic Mechanics page, there are a number of layers of protection and factors you can employ to reduce the overall chances of your party immediately being cursed and can resist a Mass Curse spell from the Harpy Witches.

Protection from Magic, high Personality stat, high Luck stat, Meditation or Lucky Day, (or Day of the Gods), drinking from fountains that boost Personality and Luck, and equipping items that boost any of these things will help you in dealing with the insufferable frequency in which your party gets cursed by harpies. Incidentally, Curse is the only status condition that is resistible by the Personality stat.

Unfortunately, there is no "Blessed Sparkling Ring - Wearer is Immune to Curse" so immunity is not really possible.

If you happen to get Drunk while fighting harpies, it can also be cured by a Restoration potion. This is handy, considering there is no spell designed to cure Drunk, and I don't think Divine Intervention is exactly a great way to sober up while in the heat of battle. :P

Hope this helps.
