Hello.
I bought both games a couple of days ago.

Character Creation in both games work fine but as soon as there is gameplay, the game either crashes or everything besides the UI is just black.

I searched the internet a little and it seems to be a native resulution problem on my end. I changed my native resolution to more of the oldschool ones like 1280x1024 or even 800x600. On 1280x1024 I had some luck. I could see the world and sprites but with constant flickering and then CTD. But thats about it.

is there a workaround to it or are there maybe mods I should try?

I have an MSI gaming laptop with an RTX 4050.

Same old answer: No, I did not. Just installed it and immediatly after Character creation i got CTD. At least the black borders are gone, so it is installed properly.


Edit: So yeah, I installed grayface patch again just to be sure that I installed it in the right folder. I have a new UI ingame but it still flickers black and then CTD.

Without the patch, what have you set the video settings to in the setup—Software or Hardware? Have you tried running it from the installation folder with MM7-Rel.exe and MM7.exe? Are any compatibility settings applied to any of the executables? If they are, and if they are not set to Windows 7 but XP SP2/3, change it to 7.

I fixed it.

Move the install folder from c:\Program Files, which is broken in newer Windows and cannot be used to install anything, and to c: or somewhere similar.

Got passed the lock up.
