Hi.
This problem of mine is very annoying. Can't find any info about it, but i guess i'm not the only one having it.

When i play mm7, saving, quitting and loading again its ok for some time. But then, after another pc shutdown, suddenly on the next session, all my progress in all save slots made previously dissapear, regressing to the saves made before last time pc was turned off.

So, for example, i played some session, made it to Nighon, saved in eofol tunnels and closed game. Then i shutted down my laptop and next day everything loaded ok, i raided Clanker's laboratory and hydras in Nighon. Then i saved again, and next day when i load - every save slot changed back to Eofol tunnels, like i didnt played day before...

And what is worse: i can't save anymore. Every time i try to save, just trying to press "save" button, game crush with no particular error message, just the generic Win10 window with "program didn't worked correctly".

Then i try to reinstall the game, but "saving" function don't work!

Which i guess, happens because when you press the "Save" button, game try to read all existent save files to load them in the list, but they are corrupted. Which is awful!!!!

Also, i tried to reinstall everything and deleted all saves, starting new party from scratch. But the bug occurred again...

I have Windows 10 laptop (asus k56c) with latest patches, english Might and Magic version 7_1.1_(hotfix)_(10933)_(g) (which is current version available in library), also i installed latest GrayFace patch, cause its fixing so much i dont even know how to play without it. I didnt used any of grayface patch features, so i guess the problem not in this.

Have someone ever suffered from this disgusting bug????

Do you ahve game installed in Program Files folder?

Do you have some cloud saving enabled (try disabling it)?

I'd guess Windows 10 is interferring with the save process, and reverting the files to a previous version or something.

I dont use cloud saving and galaxy client.
Its installed in D:\GOG, not in system drive.
Also, i guess, if it happened to be an issue of directory, it wouldn't save at all from the begining?

Also, i run the game in administrator mode, just in case...

Huh. I'm not sure what to tell you. I haven't had anything like it.
Contacted the support and as i get it, this problem can't be solved ever. I guess its a problem of a pair "mine particular laptop model + windows 10", otherwise this problem would be discussed somewhere else...

I guess i won't buy and install awful windows 7 just for playing mm7 :(
Could it be an antivirus issue? Disable it for 10 mins and see if it solves anything.

I dont use antivirus software, firewalls or anything. With the exception for built-in windows defender, but i added the game to exceptions.
This doesn't work.
