I just bought MM7 on Gog.com and installed the game but when I try to open it, it doesn't launch. My Win7 version is Home Premium 64bit. What can I do?

Things I tried so far:
Change compatibility mode to Win 95
Change compatibility mode to Win 98/ME
Run with software 3D
Run without 3D Audio
Run as administrator

nothing works for me. When I right click on the .exe and try to open it as administrator, nothing happens, but I can see mm7.exe in the task manager.

Anything else I can try?

I have windows 8.1 but what I've done to get it to run is

1. set reduced colour mode to 16 bit
2. disable display scaling on high DPI settinga
3. installed grayface patch

step 1 and 2 can be found in the compatibility tab
for step 3 just google "grayface patch mm7"
