When I try to launch mm6 I get an application error (the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002).Click OK to terminate.)
Any help?
The others play fine...
I have an old pc (P4 2,4 , 512 Ram and an old radeon card). Never had other problems with gog games...
Try to install vcredit2008 http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en
Try Windows95 compability mode
YES! Thank you murlock, that did it!!
murlock, I already have Microsoft Visual C++2008 up-to-date and still MM6 doesn't work, even with Win95 compatibility mode. Any other option ?
Can you post more infos about error ?
had same problem, and solution worked fine when i changed it to windows xp compatablity mode. Looking forward to getting back into this classic.
Agreed. I had the same problem on two separate computers until I activated XP Compatibility mode.

Hi,
I have the same problem but on XP. The game crahes at launch. I have tried to change the compatibility mode to Windows 95 & later to 98/Me, but in that case the game doesn't even seem to blink :(. Microsoft Visual C++2008 is up to date. Any solutions? I'd very much love to start spending another endless amount of time on this gem of a game :)
Thanks Murlock, that worked for me :)
I was running into the same thing on my netbook, but hilariously enough, rebooting fixed it.
Here's another new wrinkle. I also couldn't get the game to launch running win xp, just got the application error message. I downloaded the item above and no change. Then I selected win 95 compartability and the error message stopped coming up, but no game. When I select the game again it tells me another script is already running but again no game.
A real head scratcher...
Greetings!
I can only add myself to the list as Bcasner and Pedroasecas did. I have xp opsys, up-to-date c++2008, tried all compatibility modes but no change. Still comes back with error message right after starting the exe. Would be nice to get this game working.
Hello again,
installing GrayFace's patch 1.6 as detailed in http://www.gog.com/en/forum/might_and_magic_series/m_amp_amp_m6_patch_1_6, the game starts and runs perfectly! :D It also gives you the chance to remap your controls, substitute items from the game's data files, etc. Just follow the steps outlined in the linked thread and check your MM6.ini with a text editor against what is shown in the later posts.
Cheers!
PS: If don't hear any music, change the value PlayMP3=0 to PlayMP3=1
I tried Win 95 compatibility mode to start and nothing really worked. So I downloaded the C++ files suggested by Murlock, then tried to run it. The screen changed resolution, then it became gray and an error message popped up:
DDraw->CreateSurface()failed:88760028
From what I understand, DirectDraw is merged now with DirectX 8 or later, so I don't know quite why I'd need this. My drivers are all updated as far as they'll go, but maybe this computer isn't up to specs?
