Funny thing. So I saved right before looting dragon's corpse (I want some Ultimate Boots of the Gods, Ruby Star Amulet of Protection or some other item from my wishlist). Now every time I start the game and load this savefile, the dragon corpse isn't there. If I reload again, it reappears.

Same situation happened with Supreme Titan's corpse before too (I was haggling for Galahad).

Savefile attached (just change extension from ""jpg" to "zip" and unpack it to savegame directory). Keep in mind, it features late-game party, and so it might spoil the game for you.

Since you have already posted a save file, I have another request:

Could you post a save file in which every character is dead (or under a condition the game treats as dead for game over purposes)?

Alternatively, could you post a save file where there are 0 characters in the party?

Where in the game doesn't matter, but I would prefer it if loading the save didn't result in a game over. Also, this save should be created without hacking the game.

(I have managed this in MM5, but I don't have a save handy, unfortunately. I believe it involved the cauldrons in the witch village in the northeast.)

You can't have 0 characters in the party in MM6 without hacking. You always have exactly 4, though they might not always be alive.

As for everyone being dead (or equivalent), I don't think that can exist either (not for more than a split second, anyway). There are no game overs for everyone being dead, you just get teleported back to the starting area and any gold you were holding is gone.

As Bookwyrm wrote, it isn't possible without hex-editing game and even then, you'd get ghost-revived in New Sorpigal shortly after loading, because game constantly checks for recovery rate eligibility (recovery rate didn't exist in previous MMs).

How do later games in the series behave? (Also, how do MM1 and MM2 behave?)

When I managed to accomplish this in MM5, I believe one step would be enough to game over, but until then, I could do other things, such as saving the game (though I don't think I actually did so).

My favorite game to get an empty party in is Bard's Tale 3. In that game, I could maintain it long enough for an enemy to attack one of my characters (who does the enemy attack?).

6 and 7 will behave very similarly in this regard (party size always equal to 4). In MM8, the minimum party size is 1, but otherwise it will probably function similarly (you are dropped back at the respawn area if all current party members are dead); I haven't tried to dismiss the last living party member in that game, so I don't know precisely what will happen. My guess is the guy gets dismissed, and right after you exit the party member screens, you'll register as dead and get booted through the standard "all are dead" routine.

I don't know about any of the other MM games.

Just tested it. Yes.

I have already answered this your question in chat. Duplicating here: https://www.gog.com/forum/might_and_magic_series/mm6_secret_of_agars_laboratory

It is all in that thread.
