Hi all,

In MM3 I seem to be unable to buy the walk on water spell. I have an archer in my party, level 13. According to this website (http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/pc/mm3/natural.shtml) I should be able to buy it from the Falcon Guild in Wildabar but it doesn't show.

I thought an archer had nature magic, or am I mistaken and have I been levelling an useless character?!

Okay, I just figured out that it's a wrong character class. Do I need a hireling or roll a new character? I don't want to start over again..
You need to have either a druid or a ranger to cast the spell; hence you do need a hireling (I believe there's one in the first town) or a new character).

You can create a new character without having to start a new game, and since your level is still relatively low, the new character will only end up a couple levels or so behind the rest of the party. You will need to give up one of your old characters, however (assuming you're using 6 standard party members).

(I recommend a ranger for this purpose; Walk on Water is a cheap spell, and the ranger's better fighting ability will be more useful than the druid's increased spell points for that type of magic.)

This is one game in the series where the default party isn't that good; the others are MM2 (bad gender ratio, bad priest stats) and Swords of Xeen (two thief-types in a game where thievery is basically useless and easy to get for others).

Thanks, I'll replace the archer then.

Just be aware that that will mean one fewer Lloyd's Beacon spell caster, as Druids don't get that spell in MM3. (That spell is really hard to get on an item, for some reason.)
