There is a fixed mad peasant encounter under Atlantium. I left it till later when I first played the town. Now even though I'm higher level, I still have trouble beating them. They just frenzy and kill everyone before I can react.

I realize they don't guard anything important, but I'd like to beat them for completion sake. Any tips?

Thanks,
If they act before your own guys you need to increase your own Speed stats. Easiest way is by buying a skill (Atletics in Atlantium, I think). You can increase Speed from an event in some dungeon and IIRC you can get a temporary boost from some fountain.

Then hit them hard before they can act.

Nearly all my guys act faster, except the cleric, there are just too many of them. Even with killing one of them with each shot, and casting fireball from my sorcerer, still enough survive to frenzy me to death.

The only thing I can think of is increasing my HP...
Try immobilizing them with Web and that other cleric spell.

Or go somewhere else first.
The ice cave near Tundara and the druid cavern at Druids' Point are designed for low level characters IICR.

This is a good idea. Also, does Sleep work on them? You might be able to buy an extra turn if you can put a bunch of them to sleep. And then you can cast sleep on them again.
HP was my answer. You may just need to get a heap more hp.
And spells that do massive damage, too. A good Inferno spell might just wipe them off the field.

There were tons of combat instances that I could not beat. In those cases, a handy jump or teleport spell often does the trick.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try immobilizing spells, which to be honest I don't normally use often.
If not, I'll simply come back when I'm even higher level.
The Cleric spell for a swarm helps a lot too.
Got them now...

And to think I was finding this fight difficult...
