I can't redo the Goblet quest until I do, but I already rescued her sons and I find only find empty chains when I go back to where they were held captive, even with a new party.

I tried going to her with the sons in my party but still nothing.

Regardless of what I do, I can't re-rescue the sons and she either says "save my sons" or "gone fishing" and the Wizard who gives the Goblet Quest won't interact with me until she gives me the information about the temples after I rescue them.

Which is really too bad as the goblet quest was really useful for leveling up early characters. I'm training an entire party of sorcerers for the Tower of Mercy, and also it seems (mostly) OP once they all learn 3-4 and 4-3.

If you use old save game - why don't you add your high level characters to the party?

In case if you want completely fresh start, you need to replace "roster.dat" in game directory. Here is "clean" one (rename "jpg" to "dat"). If that doesn't help, simply reinstall the game.

Why obsess about the first quest when there's a whole world to explore?

PetrusOctavianus: Why obsess about the first quest when there's a whole world to explore?
-Because it's really easy to grind weak party members that way.

-Because I can't stand it when games act screwy regardless of importance

Are you using new or imported characters?

It is much faster to kill the Cuisinarts if you are looking to level up new characters; one fight gives you enough XP to reach level 20+.

(Yes, it's possible to kill them with a new party; you just need some mercenaries, fountains, and either Frenzy or Max HP potions.)

Edit: Attached screen shot as proof. (Note that it is actually easier if you recruit Ariel, which requires winning 1 easy battle.) Also added a detail about the level reachable after one battle.

Why are you giving spoilerish material when the OP just asked how to redo a quest? Edit- oh, I see. You're talking about the grind. I mostly retract my post, but it's still sort of spoilerish.

No, I don't think you can get her to repeat it. You could look on YouTube or a walkthrough if you need to get the info. It sort of sucks. If I remember right, it wasn't anything too important.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the game! It's one of my faves from the period.

I enjoy making new parties from scratch and not using my stronger members to rush my way up the levels, it gives me more satisfaction doing it slower.

But the reason I asked this question to begin with, is that I forgot what the information was but I needed it to get further in the game. Which new party or old, makes no difference as I can't get any further anyway.

Unless of course the Castles are simply optional side-quests with no bearing on the plot (like in the first game)
