It has been many moons since I played any MM game. I am now replaying MM1 and I have forgotten where, as in physical map or town location, my cleric and sorcerer can learn their spells. I am sure there has been a previous topic but the search function has not helped me any. I just need to get them started and can manage from there.

Haven't played Might and Magic 1 (maybe I should?), but my understanding is that you don't learn spells, but rather start with all the spells known. In fact, the only thing preventing you from casting higher level spells is the spell level statistic (don't know if it's displayed on the status screen); for Cleric/Sorcerer it's half your caster level rounded up (capped at 7), and for Paladin/Archer it's lower. So, just gain a couple levels and you'll have access to an entire new level of spells.

(MM2 is where spell learning started, but even then, only some spells have to be learned somewhere, and others are learned on reaching the level where your permanent SL is high enough to cast them. (It's possible for SL to raise or drop in MM2; is it possible in MM1?)
You learn them automatically when leveling up. It was MM2 that introduced learning from guilds, temples and events.
