hi

there is a bug in mm8 after you set the graphic cards selection and start the game
when the game is running there is the intro movie is start by saying 3do and screen freeze
i have try an unofficial updates but it didnt work
i have a windows 7 64 bit
please help me

I'm on W7 x64 and cannot replicate the issue.
Make sure that you run the game as administrator (right-click the game shortcut, pick that option) and that your DirectX and graphic drivers are up to date.
Please post some additional PC info (most notably what graphic card you use), as well.

Okay, have you tried any solutions already that didn't work?

- Do you have the latest DirectX 9 (June 2010) installed? (it's separate from DX10/11 and does not come with Win7 by default)
- Did you install the game in administrator mode?
- Do you have any custom codecs installed?
- Can you skip the intro (just hit ESC) and start the game?

yes i have directx 9 june 2010
i did use game mode in administrator mode
i have try the esc button to skip intro
and what kind of codec are we talking about there a lot of codec?
i install bink & smacker the last one still does not help also i used all the unofficial updates still didnt work

You need to edit registry settings.
Launch registry editor (Start Menu->Run...->regedit)

Go to key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\New World Computing\Might and Magic Day of the Destroyer\1.0

In the right pane you'll see bunch of options.
Set value of D3D Device, Use D3D and VideoQ to 1
exit editor, launch it again to see if the changes were saved.

Run the game from mm8.exe (not the setup, it will reset the settings and the game will hang again)

That worked for me (I managed to run Hardware acceleration without freeze), but I have Nvidia card.
