I recently stumbled onto a disk image of M&M 1 that i was able to play on my Apple. After playing the game for a bit I realized that the characters that I inherited had already completed the game so alot of the game features were disabled (Gates to Another World, the quests and kings in the Castles are empty, location specific triggers not there, etc). No biggie I figured I make a whole new set of guys and start from scratch. After a couple of weeks of playing I sorta clued in that there was no difference, alot of features are still "disabled" even for my new characters. This leads me to believe that the disk image for "Disk 2" overwrites the status of all parties once you complete the game, making it impossible to start over and try it again.

Or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Anyways does anyone have any input on this?

Nevermind I figured it out. As you play the game it overwrites/deactivates story conditions on Disks 3 and 4 as you complete quests. I was able to find copies of disks 3 and 4 that had incomplete quests and essentially start over again with characters I had built up on another completed version.

That's cool that you still have the old disks.
