Hey, I'm new to GOG and have been having some issues getting Heroes of Might and Magic 1 & 2, and games in general, to download properly. I am on a Dell laptop running Windows 8. I've been able to download the 'gog.com downloader' application and it shows that my purchased games have downloaded, but the files are nowhere to be found on my drives.
Anybody having or have had similar issues on a Windows 8-based computer and can help out?

Open the downloader, right-click any game that is completely downloaded and select "Open enclosing folder" to open the download location. Alternatively left-click the little magnifying glass right to the completed download progress-bar.

There's also a "Settings" button in the upper right corner. On the Settings window look for "Save downloads to:" to see your current download location. There's also a button "Browse" where you can change the download folder.

I had tried that several time. Each time I've found the location for the files, the folder had been empty.

Hm, that's odd. Why don't you just download the installer directly with your browser. The Might and Magic pack isn't that big, so it should be no problem. Deactivate the GOG Downloader in your gameshelf and click the link to start the download (see screenshot).
