Hello all

I've recently, purchased a new computer (maybe 2 months old now) and I'm having some trouble trying to install and play some games. The games I have difficulty with also include the following three:

Might and Magic 7: For Blood and Honor
Might and Magic 8: Day of the Destroyer
Might and Magic 9

(All 3 are Soldout disc copies - Not sure if that could be relevant but thought to add it incase)

When I insert the discs, the Soldout menu will pop up asking me if I want to install so I'll click through the options. After that, nothing happens at all. The exception to this is M&M 7: For Blood and Honor. With this game, it will install up to 84% and then the installation will crash followed swiftly by my computer crashing.

Any ideas as to what I could try and do to get them to work and install properly?
If I was to purchase the copies and download from Gog.com, are they likely to work better than the disc copies and be problem free?

Thank you for any responses and views, any advice I can undertake would be greatly appreciated.

Things you may try:
- copy data from discs to HDD and run setup from there
- run setup as an administrator / in different compatibility modes
- don't install to C:\Program Files, choose different location
- install DirectX 9c package, if you haven't already

Do you get any error message at all?

GOG versions work for me on Win7, there may be some issues with Hardware accelerated mode but you can find workaround here on forums.

Thank you for the reply :)

I'm going to try the suggestions you've given to me and see what happens from there. As for the error messages, I don't get anything at all to tell me if there is an error or whether or not an installation is taking place.
