Most options seem to be Necromancers, Dark elves, Vampires, and the like...I usally play the "Good guys", so I was wondering...I liked how MM7 gave you a choice.

Also, can you become "Weak" easily? Maybe it was because I donated at the temple...Is it still only from the Haste spell or some monsters?

Thanks!

In this game, Evil is kind of what you make of it. The Necromancers and Dragons aren't really good guys, but the opposing factions aren't very nice either (the Church of the Sun is apparently rife with corruption and greed, and the dragon hunters are basically blackmailing the dragon king into letting them wipe out this nest of dragons).

The Dark Elves are very mercantile. More than willing to use underhanded means, but they do care about the fate of the continent.

The Minotaurs are very isolationist, but again, they're willing to work with proven allies.

There are a number of ways to become "Weak". Certain enemy attacks may inflict it (I think certain gargoyles are a big culprit here, and maybe some of the harpies). Travel across a map boundary without enough food and your characters will be Weak when you arrive. Staying awake too long will eventually cause Weakness (and trying to adventure multiple days without rest will eventually cause Insanity and Death). When the Haste spell expires, your characters will become Weak.
Thanks, I got the evil Moral perspective thing. Are we still in Erathia? I thought we were always trying to save it! :) In HoMM Too.

For weakness, I was still in the first town and didn't have any fights yet! Just seemed weird...

No, MM8 doesn't take place in Erathia. MM8 takes place on the continent of Jadme. Erathia (focus of MM7) is another country on that world, and Enroth (focus of MM6) is yet another different country on that world.

My most common source of Weak characters is being awake too long. The pirates right outside of town don't inflict any status effects (except Death-through-HP-loss ;) ), so I'd guess you were simply wandering around exploring for around 24 game hours. After roughly a 24 hour period, your party will become Weak. This can be cured with the Cure Weakness spell, just like any other source of weakness, but be careful to sleep eventually or you'll suddenly have characters that are Insane or even Dead. I speak from experience. :)

Edit: HoMM1 - 3 (and Chronicles) focuses on the world where Erathia exists. HoMM1 deals with setting up the country of Enroth (Lord Ironfist wins). HoMM2 is the civil war between Ironfist's sons, and so also deals with Enroth. HoMM3 primarily deals with conflicts in the area of Erathia (Queen Catherine's home country, before she married Roland Ironfist). HoMM4 explicitly states that the world of Enroth and Erathia is destroyed, and the base game of HoMM4 is about survivors of different cultures setting up in the new world.

Doesn't MM8 include also a visit to the pirate islands of Regna, talked about in MM6?

Karigor is a city? another island? also offstage but mentioned in MM6. Does either of MM7 or MM8 include going there?
