Hi,

I've installed MM7 from GOG, changed the folders Anims, Data and Sounds with my local ones (to have a different language) and the game run perfectly.

But now I'd like to add the GrayFace MM7 Patch. Since I changed the language of my game, I downloaded the "Patch for other localized versions of the game" and installed it. It created a folder called {pf} inside the Might and Magic 7 folder, and inside that folder there is now another folder called "Might and Magic VII" which has a lot of other files. The installation of the patch finished without any problem.

But when I run the game, I notice that I'm running the normal game, as always, I don't see any other option. How the patch works exactly? Did I installed it incorrectly, as I think? Or should I have installed the normal patch instead of the one for other localized versions of the game?

Thank you in advance!

Just a guess because I don't have MM7, but it sounds like you're looking for some special new menu to have been added. I don't think there will be because I didn't notice anything like that for MM6. The README or whatever file that describes the patch should say how to experience the additions it includes. For example, which new keys to press. Likely most of the changes just happen with the flow, and likely there aren't any checkboxes to toggle them.

Well, I checked the Readme file, it says it's enough to activate these options in the .ini file, which I did. I set MouseLook to 1, but inside the game it doesn't seem to work.

Also the Quick Save, it should work automatically pressing F11, but there again, nothing happen.

I honestly don't know what I did wrong. Is there anyone who actually made this patch work and can tell me what to do? :/
I can only think of 2 things that might help, since I've never used the Greyface patch before.

1.) Is you game updated to official patch 1.1? that is a requirement for the "Patch for other localized versions of the game".

2.) Try using the patch for the english version of the game since that seems to be what you originally installed before replacing files for a different language.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
I've probably found where the problem was.

It's nowhere written where to install the patch, and I assumed installing it in the game folder was correct, because the patch actually created another folder called {pf} and inside that another folder called Might and Magic VII, which is DIFFERENT from the actual game folder, which is called Might and Magic 7 (the number 7, not the roman number). The fact that the name was different made me think it was ok if they were 2 different and separated folders. Which is not.

You actually can't stick with the default path marked by the patch, instead you have to change it with the right game folder.

Now it works :) I have mouse control, quicksaves, and everything...I just need to understand why music doesn't work anymore.

I'll probably try to install the normal patch instead of the one for "other localized versions of the game". I'll let you know if it works or not.
it seems to work with the normal patch too.

Now I just have to find a solution for the full screen mode: with both patches the game window is little, it doesn't stretch full-screen. It must be an option triggered by the patch somewhere...

Regarding this, did you try your graphics card setting? Check under scaling and set it to "Aspect Ratio" or similar.

yes, it's already set like that. It must be an option somewhere in the config files of the game, I just need to find it. It's like this only with the patch installed.
If you're having issues with simply running the game in full-screen, then see here:
