running Vista. downloaded copies of VI, VII, VIII and everything was fine until i installed each game's respective *grayface* patch...now i cant hear the music. looked in the stickied thread about the patches and the most recent reply was someone with the EXACT same issue as me, and they never recieved any help.

There are some suggestions regarding sounds problems in VII in this thread.

Don't know if they might work for VI and VIII as well.
I had the same problem and editing PlayMP3=0 to PlayMP3=1 in the mm7.ini fixed it.

Edit: wanted to note that after following the above, i next realised that the songs weren't looping anymore. i set the musicloop option in the mm8.ini from "1" back to the default "0" and now all is well.
