This game looks great and immersive. But when I look at water it just looks horrible. I'm trying to find settings that work but they all look like animated sand art. I've tried settings on high and low. Nothing seems to help.

[edit] Looks bad here too. Maybe it's just my opinion.

Those two idiots in the Youtube video have nothing better to do than to dish out criticism on a game when they have done, with all likelyhood, squat themselves in the game developing world. People like that make me sick as they are as superficial as the water they were harping on about

But i sure as heck can appear cool in a youtube video. Please subscribe. Utter losers
I don't understand where you're coming from at all. I think the water looks great.

I believe they were talking about the weird finger animation at the very beginning (hence "I restarted the game just to see that again"). Which is, you have to admit, really strange. If you watch the video further, you'll see that they aren't mindlessly criticizing the game at all. Don't be so hasty to do your own criticizing.

Also, those aren't just some random Youtube jerks.... it's a video from GiantBomb.

I'm not trying to bash Miasmata at all myself. I had thought maybe there was a setting that someone else might have come across to make water look better.

My first impression was the water looks terrible when you are right next to shore and frankly my opinion hasn't changed. However when you explore the island and look at the water from a higher vantage point it looks quite good.

I'm using an nVidia GT 220 card and I can confirm the grainy-water issue on Miasmata as well.
