I've been wanting to play the MSX version of Metal Gear but before I buy I'd like to know if anyone has had any negative experiences with this version? I've been reading through a few posts in the forum some have had problems even launching the game, having it freeze at the title screen..... I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?
Personally had no problems with this version of the game.

From negatives can point to the fact that this port is not MSX accurate like frame rate and positions of certain guards changed in various areas. Some sounds and music sounds a little off, but I played quiet awhile now, so it might be fixed already.

Overall it's a good port and I did a full run of it no problem.
Just as an Addition for future Readers.

I personally like the Changes of the Guard Positions, as the Original has them placed in a Way they spot you directly by entering a Square.

that is the point in those old games you need to learn where to enter. and die sometimes a lot to learn the game... if they change the gaurd postions its a degraded version and not the metal gear you wanna try after so many years... i dont understand that people like that.... use brains instead of zombie mode....

Binoculars is your friend. Unlike NES version you can safely use them in MSX version.

Much like in the other metal gears I made extensive use of my binoculars.

Unavoidable Enemies because of their Placement has nothing to do with learning the Positions or take a Glimpse with the Binoculars.
You should learn not to be as rude.
