After beating the game, whenever I start a new game, it always begins in the "Alternate Round" mode, which basically has a bit more unfair enemy placement.

It says "Hold down the Inventory and Weapon item buttons if you do not want to play Alternate Round". I played the original Japanese release and there you had to press R2 and L2 together. But apparently in this version nothing works! No mater what I hold down, it ALWAYS starts Alternate Round. Does anyone know any way not to start the Alternate round, without moving the save files that is?

This here worked for me, GOOD LUCK! :) To play without Alternate Round, either delete the save or hold L2 and R2

Funny thing is I followed the things he said did not work and it did. which is odd. maybe a bug with yours? not sure. but If that does not work, Please post it in my thread, GOG guys are monitoring the issues with the game and trying to see what they can do to fix some of them.

Edit:- It seems, Holding down R2 and L2 doesn't do anything for me. I'll resort to posting in your thread.

Nope, absolutely vanilla GOG version with latest update.

That is very odd, I use a keyboard to play the game. I wonder if it registers the keyboard and if you are using a controller it does not. hmm yeah please post that one in my thread. might be an issue, I just tested it out on my end and it worked with a keyboard.

Can you please give me the exact instruction as to what you are doing? You hold down both Inventory weapon and Inventory Items, and then start the new game while both hold down right?

Alright, the controller doesn't work to change Alternate round to regular. You have to use your pc keys bound to "Inventory Weapon" , "Inventory Item" and Enter key. Holding down controller bounds keys doesn't work.

Correct Sir. How I use my controls is wasd for movement and I use keypad numbers 4,5,6 1,2,3 and Q and E for fast equip and uniquip.

GREAT! Thank goodness, Can you Please report this to my thread and reply to a blue to report this issue? would help greatly on there end and some others who might have this issue.
