Another bug is that sometimes the AI just won't move when they should. You're supposed to meet up with them at certain points, and if you venture further on your own, the game just instakills you. So you go to the supposed meeting point, but the AI units will just stand around on the (empty) battlefield doing nothing. Replaying that part of the level a dozen times might help. It got really frustrating though.
