Has anyone found a fix for crashes of Breakthrough and Spearhead when launching?

The main game runs perfectly- although it doesn't like widescreen.
When I try to launch either of the expansions from their .exes, they load up as black screens and nothing happens.
If I click anywhere, the game crashes.

Attached is a screenshot of the crash.

I really don't want to have to refund this. I adore MOHAA.

I haven't tried the expansions, but the main game was working fine for me up until the last nvidia driver update, now the game loads and after a few seconds (upto about a minute of play) the game crashes to desk and closes

i have all 3 packs working in windows 10 -64 bit and i found the hints of how to do it here in the forum.let me retrace the steps .(hopefully i recall them right)

1-first make a shortcut to the desktop form your spearhead ???\whatever\mainta\spearhead.exe

run in compatibility mode windows xp sp3 as admin

2 -then start the game (but through the shortcut and not through gog-galaxy) . do dome options keychanges or whatever,then the game creates the file unnamed soldier.cfg. in the mainta folder
exit the game

3 - take an editor like notepad and edit the unnamedsoldier.cfg (save the original in a safe place just in case)

4 - add these lines

seta r_customwidth "1680" //set this variable to whatever you want the resolution to be. delete this line but
keep the seta r.....
seta r_customheight "1050" //set this variable to whatever you want the resolution to be.delete this line
seta r_mode "-1"
seta ui_console "1"
seta developer "0" //setting to 1 will cause number of npcs to display. delete this line
seta in_mouse "-1"

restart your game in the video options you should see the graphics set to -1 dont change any resolution just change the resolution in the config i have 1680x1050 you might have 1680x1050 as well, or whatever .on a laptop i did the same but there i have the 1600x900 resolution .and in case you play it on two computers dont let gog save yor save games you can do that in the options on gog on the game because it will owerwrite also the settings i ended up on the laptop with my settings (nvidia from my pc )and on the( pc with the radeon card from the laptop), lol weird to say the least maybe a bug in the galaxy it should save the savegames and not the settings.anyway i am a lone soldier and i dont play multiplayer so i save my games on my pc and not in the cloud .

and you should be fine i can even run the game with some mods

the same is done for breakthrough although there the unnamedsoldier.cfg is created in the folder maintta

I have the same problem but it works for me:

Go to the game main folder

For Breakthrough:

1. Save MOHAA.exe to MOHAA.exe.old
2. Rename moh_Breakthrough.exe to MOHAA.exe
3. run MOHAA.exe to play Breakthrough

For Spearhead:

1. Save MOHAA.exe to MOHAA.exe.old
2. Rename moh_spearhead.exe to MOHAA.exe
3. run MOHAA.exe to play Spearhead

Both worked right away, thanks a lot for these fixes man!

I guess I'll never get to play it because this all suggestions are way to technical for me to do but thanks.
