{EDIT: Pardon the miswritten topic line. It wasn't until after I'd posted this that I found that the game hadn't frozen, but was just waiting for me to confirm my menu option choice, which I couldn't see because there was no text displayed for it.}

Right, so I know MDK2 HD isn't sold here on GOG, but given the response I've received from Beamdog 'support', this seemed the best place to ask.

Basically, there are no lines of text, no cursors, no HUD sprites, nothing that isn't 3D-rendered, except for the boxes where dialogue text is supposed to appear.

BD told me they've pretty much abandoned the game, saying "it's no longer being actively developed". My only shot is finding another user that's found a solution.

Not to sound facetious or anything, but have you tried the SD version sold here on GOG? I played a little bot of the HD version and as far as I can tell it's the exact same game with added textures and models.

It doesn't seem like a good HD rendition to me.
I fixed the issue (and totally forgot to say anything about it) by downgrading my Catalyst drivers to 12.7, which apparently comes before whatever change broke the game. On top of that, I switched to a GeForce 760 GTX just yesterday anyway.

Also, you're using "facetious" wrong. I mean, unless you meant to be sarcastic and meant that I should stay the hell away from the SD version (which I bought from GOG on it's release here, but didn't play because I could never get past the super-slow text crawls). You're right, though, the HD is little more than a new paint job with little to no internal re-workings. Even the old cheat codes are still in there (thank goodness, because the fight with Zizzy is still no easier than it was)! If Beamdog ever gets off their duff to "develop it further", it might be worth buying for kids who demand eyecandy like that.
