I am trying to use pickhack to modify racestuf.lbx for custom race building. When I played this game years ago, I used a modified version of the file that I cannot locate in my backup files. When pickhack runs it cannot find the file, but there is virtually no documentation with the program, so I have no idea where it is looking. It would be pretty simple to just put the file where the program wants to find it to run the modification. Can anyone help me with this or suggest another way to alter the point values of traits on the custom race builder?

Thanks
Chris

I've done some searching on this myself, with the extra complication that I'm using a mac, so the game is wrapped in boxer, and pickhack is wrapped in wine.

However, I did get it to work. The file you want PICKHACK to read is RACESTUF.LBX and the location needs to be in the same folder as PICKHACK.EXE

So if you drag PICKHACK.EXE into the main resource folder (where RACESTUF.LBX is) and run PickHack there, it should work.

For those other folks on mac, it's a bit trickier. You have to inspect the game boxer package, and open the hard disk to get at the LBX file. Then you have to inspect the wine wrapper package for PickHack. Copy the LBX file from one package to another in Finder, and when you're done modifying it, copy it back.
