First of all before I make further suggestions I should let you know up front that I own part of the studio (Kerberos Productions) that makes Sword of the Stars. I attached a JPEG showing a couple demonstrations on how to improve the Ship Customization screen.

Both UI changes would be great. Adding missiles to Titan/Doomstars is wrist-pain inducing.
