Large galaxy (single player defaults), I'm at turn 398, if I click process turn, the usual stuff happens but then it just stays at 'processing turn'. I waited 10 minutes and alt-F4 was the only way out.

In this state, the music plays and I can scroll around the map and zoom in and out.

If I exit/reboot/etc and try to resume the game it still has an infinite processing turn issue.

Hello Skolia, unfortunately I have similar issues. I use a few mods but I doubt the issue is mod related, as there are a lot of people who still have or had those problems in the past. A short internet search for "master of orion infinite or endless processing turn" or something like that reveals it.
In my case it's temporaly on turn 225 occuring in the Meklar turn. However, when I go to the Meklay diplomacy screen and try to establish an embassy it is also stuck with no options to continue and leave the diplomacy window.

In my opinion the time is ready for some version 55.xyz and some bug fixes.

Can't they just implement some monitoring routine watching over the turn processing to see if and which loop takes too long and skip that one so it doesn't get infinite?

@ussnorway: That''s good for you but doen't help the rest. No offense meant.
I know my post doesn't help Skolia or any other either, except pointing out that this infinite processing turn issue is a reoccuring persistent problem. It's simply sad to see the game stuck after a few hundred turns that went smooth and fine, especially when you are unable to fix it via reloading or else.

By the way in my case it may be a mod related issue, as I tested a own one in this last session and had no such problems before. However if so, it kills the fun nonetheless being forced to use a none-moded game only. What's the point in making it modable then?

none taken... it does help the dev team because my system has less grunt than yours however you both use windows 10 and that could be a facter where my 8.1 system powers past on older hardware but newer G-drivers
