I'm not sure if this is intended or not: I'm playing the Sakkra and conquered some Psilon planets. The Psilon population produces only 1.5 points of research per tile. They definitely are assimilated: When I drop them on a food or production tile, I get the full amount.

As far as I can tell conquered population adapts the player's attributes exclusively.

Not always: The Psilons keep their low gravity tolerance for example. Which makes sense, but I'm not sure what would make sense for research. Is it the same with production?
