i found a very old utube video that the person playing won in 90 minutes. the formula is custom wizard-all death books-choose wraiths as rare spell . pick elves as race. set magic screen to max mana toggle reasearch and skill to off-you wont need these at all. as soon as you can summon a wraith as soon as possible. send waith out to take nodes and any close by cities. use raised undead from battle to garrison cities. dismiss any units that need mana upkeep as you need all mana you can get for more wraiths as soon as possible. convert gold to mana as needed . do not bother building any buildings that dont lead to mana production. avoid attacking anything that the wraiths cant heal from in battle early on. after you get a few waiths send them out to kick butt. they will tear thru your foes like nothing else can. almost unstopable. you wont need to bother with any spells except black prayer. i won in 92 min and never even got attacked by any opposing wizards just rampaging monsters. i even used auto battle the whole game. i played on normal level just to test his formula out
Yes, Wraiths is the go-to for 11 book easy win strategies. Life and Nature can contest it, but Death is generally king in this regard.
Use Invulnerable Guardian Spirits for Life.
I suggest Water Walking Path Finding Basilisks for Nature, though Gorgons also work. Take Nature's Cure if you go Gorgons; they are a lot more expensive, so you need to be able to get them healthy again. The Basilisks are quite cheap for their combat power.

Chaos and Sorcery have some really good stuff, but neither one has a good solo summon in that starting range.
Chimeras might be the best bet for Chaos. You could scouting with Magic Spirits and use Chaos Spawn as your muscle, but Spawn are slow and relatively squishy for their cost.
Sorcery might try something revolving around Phantom Beast and Wind Walking, I guess? Or make something happen with Storm Giants and Floating Island?
yea i imagine a water walking path finding baskalisk would chew thu some armys pretty quick. there are so many ways to play this game and its what keeps me comming back for more. my old tried and true is nature slingers and then magicians. . have won most of my games this way but paladins can really be an obstical using this formula. another neat way to win is nature and torin the chosen. death-dark elves -deathknights is my next challange. the invisable flying warship has to be the most inventive and i like your suggestion of invunreble gardiun spirt.
Here's a Master of Magic Random Wizard Generator that I occasionally use to determine my starting setup. Sometimes I don't really care to pick, and this can give me something a little different than I might come up with on my own.

Oh, that's nice Bookwyrm627, thanks! I often randomly generate my wizards for the fun of it, basically rolling dice totally randomly for skills and books, though I mostly pick spells as some are just so very much better than others, and my wizards random wizards are already so sub-optimal. Plus my play style is really pretty uncompetitive, but I enjoy it.

Random race too, though I'd never choose a non-Myrran race on Myrror, unlike those inked algorithms. Oh, and I never play Klackons, personal revulsion there!
