It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I have it installed on my desktop and laptop.

The last update (beginning of Oct 2025) failed on both, I uninstalled and reinstalled, it now reports an error during the installation. No way to even install and play the game now.
This is what worked for me (version 1.109.17.1):

0) Uninstall the game manually
1) Download and install the game + DLC from the offline installers - do not install through Galaxy!
2) After installation, open Galaxy - If the game tries to update, cancel the update
3) Go to Manage Installation --> Configure
4) For the Installation tab, uncheck "Automatically update to newest version"
5) On the DLC tab, make sure all DLC are unchecked
6) Click the OK button to save the changes.

You may need to exit and reopen Galaxy to prevent a never-ending update/fail cycle, but the game does work after this. The error seems to be with the Galaxy update files for the DLC - at least for Rise of the Soultrapped for me, I don't have other one yet. The offline installers work fine.

Edit: You may see one attempt to download the patch when you close/restart Galaxy, but it hasn't killed my install so far, and it doesn't try to update again until the next restart of Galaxy. It's not a perfect workaround, heh.

Edit 2: After a couple of Galaxy restarts, it's now back to trying to update all the time. =(

"Worst case" scenario, run the game outside of Galaxy if it continues to try and update even after all this... =S

Hope this helps. =)

It would really help if you specified which game you are talking about.
I am talking about Master of Magic, the Remake (thought it was obvious). The old DOS games do not really install as such.
Amazing - game totally broken, days pass by, nobody makes any statement and effort to fix it.

Did anyone tell the people who make the game that there is a problem?

Did you ask the people who are actually paid to try and help you fix the problem?
I looked at https://www6.slitherine.com/game/master-of-magic
hoping to get some info on the recent patch
While there is a patch for download since 9th OCT 2025, I couldn't find any communication on what that patch actually contains.

Same on forums, where topics about MOM end in 2024

I also checked MuHa webpage: https://muhagames.com/master-of-magic/

similar results : nothing

Could anyone find the changelog / details on the latest patch?

EDIT: I also wonder, if mods like Apotheosis will work with the new version.
I also test-downloaded the 2.4 GB update zip file from Slitherine, but it does not contain any .TXT or similar type of information, just one .exe file.

Well. I will risk it and install the new GOG version, and check for myself. But the lack of communication is pretty disappointing.

EDIT 2:
While installing the game, GOG offered me to select specific version (optionally).
I will test the latest one first, but this might be a simple solution for everyone, who cannot get the latest version work properly. (selecting any legacy / stable version)

EDIT 3:
selecting the latest version, the game installed and runs fine.
I am just not sure if the version is indeed the latest one.
In the installation, it says: 1.09.17.1
But in-game it says 1.09.17.0444....
