Hey all, I was in a battle with my War Trolls defending one of those plane travel towers and for some reason my Trolls got a Major HP buff. My opponent just kept summoning a bunch of Fire Elementals for me to deal with and after a bit I had to evade a heal up and noticed it was taking longer than it should.

Also when one of the figures was regenerated it came right back with 3 hp even though after that it healed at the normal rate of 1. It was really odd for my War Trolls to have 13 Max HP each lol.

If anyone could let me know why this happened I would appreciate it.
- No added patches, this is the version from gog.
- my picks were, Warlord, Alchemy, Myrran, Node Mastery and 1 book in Life/Nature/Sorc/Choas.

Well I seem to have found the answer to this on the Master of Magic Wikia site.

Apparently it's a known glitch that the Trolls apparently share with any "Naturally" Regenerating unit like Hydra, Werewolfs and Shadow Demons.


"Mysterious Bonus Health

In some circumstances, the Hydra may begin acquiring bonus health (shown as golden Heart icons) while regenerating. As it regains health, the bonus Hit Points will increase with each restored head, until the final head has 20 instead of 10. This is undocumented, there is no known reason why it should happen (given the rules of the game) and thus is most likely a bug. One reasoning for that could be the ability of the mythological hydra to regrow two heads for each that is destroyed, making it stronger the harder it is fought. "
