Pabazu: True enough about the other wizards part, but you can with a little discipline not notice what spells they get, because Spell of Mastery is always second-to-last on the list, so just quickly scroll down and focus on nothing but that line. Sure, you might accidentally notice one of them, but that hardly ruins the game.
Wait, second-to-late? Which one is last??
You could just open the editor and check it. It's not that hard. Or you could just guess it would be the Spell of Return and you'd be right.

That would require me to acquire and learn to use the editor, neither of which I consider worth my limited time. I instead chose to use the fastest avenue to answering my question, and hey look, it worked!
If you don't care about the editor...then why do you care about which spell it lists as last??

Simple curiosity. I wouldn't have expected the Spell of Mastery to be second-to-last in the list (I'd have expected it to be last, or maybe somewhere in the last third if alphabetical), so I was curious about which spell WAS last. The Spell of Return makes a certain amount of sense in that regard.

Sure, I could have gone to the trouble of downloading and learning the editor just to find out, but it seemed a lot less work to simply post the question, since someone already knew where the spell was and thus presumably had an idea of which spell was right below it.

It's possible you're wrong about that. The Tweaker is pretty darned easy to use.

Would going from "There's an editor" to "So that's the answer" take less than 30 seconds? Because it didn't take 30 seconds to type the question. ;)

Yeah, probably not that quick. On the other hand, you open up the Tweaker and every shred of information is laid out for you in a sort of data tree. It probably takes about 30 seconds. Less if you're experienced, more if it's your first time.

Silly me; I'd always thought it was the other way around. ;)

These are the hex addresses for the spell of mastery for each player 0-4. They need to be set to 00. Open the save file in a hex editor like XVI32, go to each of these addresses, and zero the value.
