Like the title says, it loads ok, allows me to go through wizard creation, music plays, all seems well.

Then, just as it gets to the very end of Building the Worlds, it crashes with a weird graphics failure, see attached screenshot.

Are we still just working out the bugs in getting a good dosbox config for Win10?

Weird. Have you reported it to Support? They need to know about this.

Not yet.

Despite "Support" being a giant honking button I didn't even notice it until you asked. stupid of me. so now I'll report it to Support.

No sweat. Sometimes the forum goers can provide a fast answer.

Under the technical issues branch in Support, there are some article links that might be of help. If they don't help you, then a box on the right has a link saying "I can't find solution for my problem". Someone else recently couldn't find the link to open a support ticket about the game not working, and it took me a few minutes to locate it too.

Just an FYI to save you some time, in case the general trouble shooting articles don't help you.

I seem to recall that this particular crash has to do with the sound settings. Try changing from Soundblaster to General MIDI and try again. Or, change to No Sound and try again. If it still crashes, try setting core=dynamic in DOSbox settings and see if that works.

That was it, I changed the sound to none, which isn't really a sacrifice given how low quality MoM's sound is, and it works fine.

Thank you!
