It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

After several months away from the game, I have failed to be able to start a new game. Somewhere along the line, files and/or saved games have gotten corrupted. I have tried to contact Support, but without luck. Thus, my placement of the query here.

The precise trouble is that whenever I attempt to start a new game, it keeps loading the last quicksave. If I load a different saved game, I can only finish the turn then I am forced out of the game altogether.

My fix was to uninstall MoM via Windows (I have version 7 if that matters). The game uninstalled. I proceeded to redownload from GOG.com and reinstalled. Frustratingly, the saved games are still there and it still wants to load the quicksave when creating a new game.

I cannot fathom why the uninstallation and new installation did not fix the problem. Suggestions are welcome.

You'll probably need to uninstall and then delete the folder that the game was installed to ("Master of Magic" by default) to remove the old (corrupt) save games, then reinstall.
Alright. I did as you suggested. I uninstalled. Then did a search for anything relating to Master of Magic. I deleted everything the search found ... there was a folder and one file inside it. I downloadeded the game via the browser and ran it immediately. However, the game still has the saved games showing and will not permit the creation of a new game.
The savegames are always named the same: SAVE1.GAM, SAVE2.GAM etc.
You can try search for that.

I suspect your saved games files are in a virtual folder. Whenever you install a game under Program files or Program files (x86), a folder is created automatically. For example:

C:\Users\[Insert your username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Master Of Magic

Another idea, maybe silly, but I'm thinking that you may have chosen "Continue" instead of "New game" (3rd option from top) in the main menu. Because I don't see why a corrupt savegame would cause you to not start a new game.
