I have a 1920 x 1200 monitor, and when I run the game the game itself is confined to 1920x1080, which is fine - I expect that from ports.

What's weird is that the letterboxing isn't black. It looks like it's part of a random image from a menu or something.

Is there any way to set that to black? It's at least a dark image, so it's not TOO bad, but it is kind of distracting.

I tried manually changing the Config's resolution - no dice. It reverted to 1920 x 1080 each time.

My trashy suggestion is to use a program like Always On Top to create your own custom black bars. That would be an odd project...

I would bet that the letterboxing was not planned. Most games utilize that space for menu assets.

I am on a 1920 x 1080 monitor, so i can't replicate that issue. Could you please post a screenshot for us ? Curious to see how it looks.

Here you go, grabbed during a white frame in the intro movie to make it easy to see the area that should be black letterboxing.

It's actually part of the 'Press Any Button' screen you get after the movies play - which is interesting, because it's there before that screen comes up.

Alrite i see it. Does it stay during gameplay too? The way i see it is that the movies are imposed over the main menu in their original 16:9 ratio. Could be intentional. You wouldnt want stretched movies. But i digress. Truth of the matter is the game uses a weird resolution which then gets scaled to match native. In my case on borderless it uses 1920 x 1088.
So it could be a myriad things. Maybe intended, maybe not.

Yup, it never goes away. It's even there when the screen it's from is up, which makes for a strange effect.

I'd actually forgotten about it till now, but I had the same problem with Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth, so I guess it's just something with how Idea Factory handles their ports. (In that game the letterboxing bars are BRIGHT BLUE, so it's really annoying - they're from a sky shot.)
