Do you guys think it is possible? Releasing Mafia 1 here was absolutely awesome, and I'd love to see Mafia 2 here too.
It would be gorgeous! I have been loving Mafia II but the first game remains the best.
I'm sure GOG would love to have it here. However keep in mind the music license situation like with Mafia 1. If the game was released in Aug. 2010, that means, what, ~3 years (assuming a 10 year deal) until the music is stripped from Mafia 2? Dunno if GOG or 2K would want to release it with the music and then cut it out later, or wait until post-expiration and just provide a gutted version (Steam's version would be gutted too).
If they're gonna release it, i want full release
base game+all the DLC's (jimmy's vendetta, the cars and outfits DLC, Joe's adventure...)

Mafia 2 Complete pack is literally 11$ on G2A
so keep that in mind, it needs to be no more than 15-20$

Everything is like $80 on Steam though. http://store.steampowered.com/app/50130/Mafia_II/

because that $hit is outdated
no sane person would buy that for full price
esp where there are bundles called either the "complete edition" or director's cut (which is full game+expansions+DLC's)
for like i said 10$
I just checked prices, and Mafia 2 with Steam DRM sells for around half the price of Mafia 1 DRM-free on GOG:

Mafia 1 is $9.99 right now, during GOG's 2018 Chinese New Year sale, and I'm tempted to get it "overpriced" just to show my hatred of DRM.

Yes, it's possible and it's already done :)

Very nice to see this, am I right, Garrett? :)

So, is anything 'missing' from the GOG release of Mafia II that was in the original?
I'm wondering if the original music is included.

In any case it's good to find out that the Made Man DLC is in this version, it can't be bought separately on Steam and there is no upgrade option over there.
So glad to see Mafia 2 here but that price. Sheesh!
I purchased Mafia 2 which is presently on sale on GOG for $7.99 (with all DLC). I have a WIN10 machine and I keep getting an "Installation Failed" error. Has anyone else seen that and know how to deal with that? Thank you.
The GOG store page says the Mafia 2 music differs from the original--it isn't 10 years old though. I want to know if the GOG version includes the original soundtrack. Thank you.

I got the same problem with Galaxy. Next stop, GOG Downloader...
It does claim on the game card page that Windows 10 is included.
Might be useful to contact support if nothing else works.
I thought about doing the 'verifying' thing through Galaxy but it seemed to take quite a long while.

Ah there is another possibility: https://steamcommunity.com/app/50130/discussions/0/864971287722614117/

"For anyone else who have had this problem. I have fixed it, what I simply did was turn off my anti-virus. If you turn it back on while installed, it will remove the .exe required for Mafia II to run.
When the game is finally working, you need to go back into your antivirus settings and tell the antivirus software than the Mafia II program executable is a safe file and to exclude it from system."

I'm not too comfortable disabling my virus protection program, though.

edit: GOG Downloader version actually works no problem - no tinkering necessary.
