I have zero clue on what to do next. This is my 2nd time playing a Metroidvania game. The first being Sundered. That game was excellent and I enjoyed every moment of it but I did not get stuck and confused like I've been in this game.

I have 3 forms - Rock, Fairy and Spider. I'm currently back at the town. I only have 1 map which is for the caves that you you are lowered into by the well but the map does not tell me where I've been or what I am. Just and overview of the map itself.

I've found a few upgrades - 1 for health and another for the yellow power meter.

Is this game suppose to be this way? Did I missing something early on? I went back to as far back as I can go but have not found a clue as to where to go what to do.

I am going to guess you got stuck in the caves. The issue is you have to explore every bit of them to acquire all keys and the master key in order to go forward and reach the boss. From then on the game should click in with you. It did for me. Even if my game got bugged out twice and had to restart it. I just finished it and think that it is a good game considering it was developed by a single person . Sad some achievements are also broken. but at least I got the ending ones. Was surprised to see only 7% across all platforms ever finish it, judging by the achievements rarity. In GOG that being supposedly just 2.3% is even more shocking as the game is not hard unless you attempt to 100% it.. But maybe it is the technical issues that caused such a low completion %. Anyway, hope you do finish it.
