Only now i read that after you get 50.000, you progress in game. Somehow, i am at 95.000 and nothing happened for me to change area! When i buy new papers from the bar creep (id), game crashes...

What gives? How can i progress in game?

I wouldn't ask, but since my crash/bug is different to the one mentioned already by others (crashing at 50.000 for others, me not changing area after 50.000 and getting a crash for buying new papers), i thought i might give it a try!

Help, please! This game is awesome, i really need to progress past the first town...

Someone delete that, please. Disabling videos worked nicely, even in my different case...

Setting to Windows 2000 compatibility mode works too & plays the videos ingame (Thanks for that info melthe79 !) :)

Thats with the money is a bit odd. I too had no automatic switch & got the papers instead from the dealer guy in the bar (which I actually prefer ;) ) but remember from back when CPUs where made of wood that I did had that automatic stage switch.

Edit:
A little hint: At stage 2 the automatic switch to 3 will happen at 2 mil cash on hand. You can stockpile money in the bank without switching; at least without switching faster then you might like. Stage 3 feels a bit unfinished; going into it with tons of $ from stage 2 might save frustrations.
