How the fuck do you do this without crashing??

There's no drift function, once you point and shoot, that's where you're headed REAL FAST. This can work with planes, but I'm struggling with ships.

I've been playing this since it came out Tuesday, and while it's still not easy killing ships, I can now manage killing the small ships with the first three guns (machine gun, laser, spread shot). Also, you eventually get a hull for your ship that allows for "melee" style attacks on ships, and a engine/propeller that allows you to go underwater without taking damage. As far as drifting, you can fly/boost upwards, and then spin your plane (without boosting again) toward the ship / other enemies. It really helps to have the upgraded parts, though.
Taking out ships can be a little tricky at first and taking out the Battleships certainly is. The best way I know thus far is usually to get your horizontal speed up and ideally a bit of a slight upward diagonal and then you just cut your thrusters, let your ship go and aim your plane at the ships and fire away. After firing just turn your ship around and boost to avoid the water.

The Battleships are a lot trickier due to their sheer anti-aircraft firepower. Well it gets a lot easier once you get the cannon but until then it's basically swooping in or past and doing damage a little bit at a time until it blows up.

Interesting, I found the battleships incredibly easy to pummel with the first, basic parts you start out with.

Saw it shooting these "powerful" looking shots, and decided to give it a shot. It seemed to be invincible at first, but suddenly it went down. Was actually surprisingly easy.

Though admittedly, I would love to have seen some support for "drifting".
