Is there any way to correct this as I'm finding majority of the audio and dialogue just stutters and crackles (even slows down at points).

I just finished this game, without any sound issues at all (and didn't have to tweak anything). So the problem might not be in the game itself...

It sometimes helps to experiment with dosbox configuration for mixer. Open dosbox_eden.conf and see the [mixer] section.

Same here. Even though it's dosbox, well, my settings are Windows 10 Intel Hd 5000/Nvidia 920mx/ 6gb and on and on ;)
My first ever issue with a dosbox game in here I say!
