Did you install the game using Galaxy or did you use the offline installer? If you used Galaxy try uninstalling the game (again), then download the offline installer and reinstall using that version. Also install it somewhere like C:\GOG Games and not in Program Files or Program Files (x86).

If this doesn't work (or you've already done this) it might be an idea to contact GOG support - http://support.gog.com/hc/en-us

Hope this helps.
Thank You.

Proceeded as suggested ... doesn't work. Contact support --

I had problem launching the game too, but I had different issue (no error, it just didn't want to launch) nevertheless maybe you have the same cause:
Make sure you monitor(refresh rate) isn't overclocked. As soon as I swtiched back to a native resolution it the game launched.
had the exact same error trace. in my case, this was related to locale settings. changing the preferred language to 'English (United States)' in the windows system settings solved it .
Sorry for refreshing the old thread but for me it helped to disable full-screen optimizations from compatibility menu.

Awesome! I just disabled the full-screen thingy and everything works now. Thank you.

hno_gog: Hello,

see Error Message below:

I fixed this by
1. Start -> Type in: "Region Settings"
2. Change regional format to English (United States)
3. Start game
