Pretty self-explanatory: the top review for LOMSE mentions that a bad patch was accidentally applied when GOG first released the game; this patch caused high-level units to spawn like crazy in the early stages of the game and/or a campaign (or something like that), I think for the player's side, as he states that it makes the game much too easy to win. So, I was wondering if GOG have fixed this annoying bug (I'd really rather not buy a game that's easier than it's supposed to be), or if the review itself is in error, as no-one else seems to be complaining (there aren't that many cheaters on here, right? Right?).

Unfortunately, you'll need to apply the patch from the link below (sorry about the bad url formatting). I'm still playing the original GOG version, and the bug is indeed there. That reviewer wasn't quite on the mark, though. The bug tends to hurt the Chaos nation the most, but other than that, there's no noticeable drop in difficulty. I think it's well worth giving the game a shot, especially if you apply the patch.

Thank you so much, lanipcga! I'll go ahead and get the game while it's on sale, and apply the patch when I'm ready to play. Out of curiosity, how do you pronounce your username? Is it Lani-PC-GA?

Glad I could help! As for my username, it stands for Late Night PC Gaming. I wish I'd taken the time to think of a better alias, especially since "lani" sounds very feminine.
I hear ya! I tend to do a lot of late-night/early-morning gaming, myself. Even though you didn't ask, I just created my username on a whim; I was trying to think up something random, something that wouldn't have been taken already (I think a lot of people tend to either make up random names or create acronyms based upon something they like). There is still a bit more story to my username than that, though: at the time I first thought it up (I've since used this name on several different sites), I was really getting into The Elder Scrolls I: Arena, where, believe it or not, the reptilian Argonians have Latin- and Ancient Greek-inspired names! (Imperials weren't introduced until The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard)
