Good day fellow gamers.
I recently bought Lionheart and I want to play it. But I don' want to think about character build all day long. I read that mage is good, but you have to wait for mana all the time, so that's not for me. So I would like to play for fighter or something, but I want to talk a lot. So i guess fighter with charisma?

Please can you recommend me some build? All, attributes, skills, etc.

Thank you very much

Firemage build
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Demokin > Diabolism

ST: 1
PE: 8
EN: 6
CH: 8
IN: 7
AG: 7
LK: 4

Gifted
Skilled

Demonic Spirit

Divine > Fortitude
Thought > Fire
Thought > Protection

First level, *BEFORE* opening your "perks" tab, adjust 'Diplomacy > Speech' to *30*, then pick the 'Eloquence' perk to bump that figure to 45. Once you get a specific book, you can further increase it to *55* enabling the completion of another quest (in better way)

Offensive Paladin ( With a good two-hander, this is fun as heck )
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Human

ST: 7
PE: 6
EN: 5
CH: 7
IN: 7
AG: 5
LK: 4

Gifted
Skilled ( or possibly Ascetic )

Elemental Spirit

Two-Handed Melee
Divine > Fortitude
Divine > Divine Favor

Same as before with the 'Eloquence' perk. ( This is mostly due to the fact this game is combat orientated for the last half, but having ~50 Speech for the former is useful. )

>
Sorry if it's a bit sparse on the reasons why, but these two builds are quite good at what they do ( second one is a bit of an experiment ). You are also correct when you hear mages are vastly superior to melee, this is mainly because it allows you to ditch an entire attribute making the other 5 much stronger, combined with the fact you can take 3 Magical trees and that spells *never* miss. Perhaps in the very beginning one might experience mana issues, however that is very fleeting and soon it becomes a non-issue. By the end of the game it might as well not exist.

I'll edit this post with any info, or if people can improve on the builds/reasoning.

PS: A useful tip: You can 'Quicksave' before opening a chest, and then, if not satisfied, 'Quickload' for the chance at a different item. ( The same is true for lockpicking. )

( I really wish they'd release the source code for this game, it has such potential. )

For a pure fighter build, Feralkin have some fantastic traits. Being a brute doesn't actually lock out too many quests (the charisma stat itself doesn't put any limit on your diplomacy skill), and a lack of magic won't set you back much.

Two-Hander Crit Specialist:

ST: 9
PE: 2
EN: 9
CH: 1
IN: 5
AG: 9
LK: 4

Racial Trait: Rabid Fervor (+5% crit, +15 Melee skills, -1 PE & IN)

General Trait(s): You can take 'Gifted' and 'Skilled', but I went for 'Nasty Disposition'. In hindsight maybe not the best idea but more perks is nice.

Tag Skills: 2-handed melee, evasion and diplomacy or a magic skill that provides a healing spell. I went with lockpicking the first time but there are so many items that boost lockpick that it's a waste.

Perks:
Educated (needs 6 IN: get +1 from the 'Scholar of the Cresent' title),
Two-Handed Weapon Finesse
Two-Handed Weapon Specialisation
3x More Criticals (needs 6 LK: get +2 from Luck Potions, one earned from the beggars quests and one from the dryad quest)
Retribution
Master of Arms
Weapon Handling
Damage Resistance or Hide of Scars
Dark Majesty (if you don't mind the roleplaying implications)

Those are the best ones to pick if you took gifted/skilled. If you didn't then you'll have some left over which you could spend on some of these:
Gain Strength
Gain Luck
Fire Evasion
Disease Ward and Snake Eater or Venom Ward
Dodger
Adrenaline Rush
Die Hard and Displacement

Brutish Hulk (double HP gained on level up) should be the best Feralkin perk, but unfortunately it comes quite late (lvl 17), it isn't applied retroactively, and it requires you to take the rubbish 'Lifegiver' perk so decide early if you really want to get it (especially since the gifted/skilled combo means you can't get it until level 20).

You can quite easily get ST, EN and AG to 10 this way, and with the right weapon you'll smash through enemies while having very good AC and resistances. Keep an eye out for +crit and +dmg% equipment in particular.

Archer build
This is the most powerful and capable character I've played thus far.

Shoot enemies from afar to reduce agro'ing too many mobs.
Shoot enemies from point blank range with zero penalty.
Target body on Normal speed and watch your enemies flop on the ground and die before ever reaching you.
Never run out of mana.
Easy to keep health full with Healing and potions.

ST: 4
PE: 8
EN: 6
CH: 1
IN: 6
AG: 8
LK: 8

Race: Feralkin

Racial Trait: Regeneration (+1 Healing rate, -15% Poison and Disease resists)

General Trait(s):
Gifted
Skilled

Tag Skills:
Ranged Weapons
Evasion
Divine --> Fortitude

Perks:
Damage Resistance x2
Educated
Fire Evasion
Bonus Ranged Damage
Bonus Rate of Fire
Sharpshooter
Sniper
Superior Senses

Elemental Spirit

Inquisitor path

I placed about 50% of skill points into Ranged Weapons, 35% into Evasion, and 15% into Fortitude.
I generally only ever used the Healing spell, and used it intermittently between shots.
Your worst enemies are large skeletons, and lightning/ice casters.
Break them apart and fight them singly to succeed with minimal healing potion use.

What are the starting attribute values to set for this build?

I saw all the perks listed but do not know what they add to. I know the values in parentheses are equipment bonuses, and that each attribute is set at one less than shown because the gifted trait adds +1 to each - but I'm still short 10 or so points to create this character.

Thanks, sounds fun!

Oh my god, what happened to the lengthy post I just made?

Anyways, I'm not going to write all that again .... in essence -

Thank you for the reply! I did not expect one.

But I think you misunderstood my question, I've seen that info, I'm just trying to turn back the clock and figure out what the character creation attribute spread would be to end up with those attribute stats.

Using his info, plus info I googled on permanent attribute increase opportunities in the game, I'm still missing some points on where to start attributes at character creation to reach this:

Attributes
STR 7 (9)
PE 6 (9)
EN 10 (14)
CH 4
IN 11 (12)
AG 11 (13)
LU 9 (11)

But thanks again for the reply, but you are right - he will probably be the only one who could answer my question
Just finished my second playthrough recently. I played as Crit Archer.

Start with:
ST: 1
PE: 8
EN: 1
CH: 7
IN: 8
AG: 8
LU: 8

Racial Trait: Storm of Arrows
Traits:
- Ascetic
- Finesse

Tag Skills:
Ranged Weapons
Fortitude
Ice (?? Divine Magic: Protective is better)

Become a Paladin

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final stats:
ST: 2 (3)
PE: 10 (11)
EN: 2
CH: 7
IN: 8
AG: 9
LU: 11 (12)

Perks:
Eloquence
Stargazer
Swift Learner 2x
Galileo's Magical Battery
Debt of Brimstone
More Criticals 3x
Educated
Dervish of the Crescent
Bramble's Patience
Beggar Comrade
Weng Choi's Shaolin Secret
Gain Luck
Bonus Rate of Fire
Bonus Ranged Damage
Gain Agility
Gain Perception
Sharpshooter
Sniper
Tough Hide

Critical chance: 53%
But since I have 12 LUCK and Sniper Perk, all my attacks are always critical!!!
