At first I thought you can actually play whole game in such quality.

tomimt: I did these upscales of Love For Sail a while back. The graphical style it has scales up relatively nicely.
Love For Sail was done in 640x480 resolution, so there's enough original information in the scenes for a pretty crisp upscale result. The images would probably look even better if you'd extract the backgrounds from the game for upscaling.

The scaled resolution of the backgrounds is 2560x1920.

I also upscaled the (in)famous Larry's drug trip cinematic from 320x240 to 1280x960. Sadly enough, the original cinematic does have quite a bit of compression artefacts, so it had lost quite a bit of detail. The upscale is pretty decent though.
