I guess everybody around the world is loving this game except me. I don't like much of anything about it. I don't like the artwork. I don't like the music. I don't like the nonsense introduction or the nonsense storyline (what kind of cruise ship offers a contest where the prize having sex with a captain whose name is a parody of Captain Bligh?). I don't like the absurd puzzles (Why do they make it so hard for you to get your passport? Why is that incompetent Cabin Boy so stubborn?). I can't get used to the interface (maybe there's a reason no other game I know uses this interface?). I don't even like the lack of ways to die. Not being able to die works fine in other adventure games, but in comedy games like "Leisure Suit Larry," goofy ways to die are an important part of the fun. Al Lowe should have learned that lesson from Larry 5, which many people do not like. Lastly, I don't care for the voice acting in this game. It's okay for a Larry game, but inferior to the superb voice acting of Larry 6, and even inconsistent in some cases. Why do Shamara and the Ken Williams character sound different in this game than they did in Larry 6?

I'm guessing people like this game for the Easter Eggs and mini-games. Stuff like 'Where's Dildo" and the dice game.
Just a matter of personal preferences I suppose. Personally I enjoyed 7, I liked the characters and the puzzles and the silliness. FWIW my ranking goes:

LSL(1987) > 7 > 6 > 2 > 5 > 3

there is a game called kings quest 7 that came out before leisure suit larry 7 with the interface. leisure suit larry 7 improved the engine, and the animation looks pretty nice.

And I will say I disagree with your opinion on this game, as I think it is funny as leisure suit larry 1 and 6, but then again I actually enjoyed leisure suit larry 5 :)

No, King's Quest 7 just had that all-purpose icon that flashed whenever you moved it over anything important. LSL7 has some sort of hybrid of point and click and parser interface. It's the same style of graphics, but the way that you interact with the game is not the same at all.
I actually enjoyed playing Larry 7 very much and I didn't have problems with story, interface or puzzles. I guess it's matter of personal preference if you find those enjoyable or not.

Many people liked the general silliness of Larry 7 and didn't take the plot too seriously. And if we are talking about silly plots, then I must say that Larry 7 has much much better story than what the ending of Larry 3 was (I liked the story up to certain point, but IMHO the ending was just awful. And same can be said about the ending of Space Quest 3).

I'm also happy that 7th game didn't reintroduce Passionate Patti after sixth game had ditched that character. My opinion about her is somewhat conflicted. While she was all right character, I have always felt that Larry is better without her.

They do have a similar interface, especially a similar inventory style system, but ls7 does not from memory have the 3d search thing like kq7.

You are correct about that. I had forgotten how much of a pain in the ass that 3d thing was in KQ7.
Personally I think LSL7 is the best game in the series overall and one that has also aged the best.
