I just bought and downloaded this game here with the intent to finally complete it, but still i couldn't get past the part of the game that made me ragequit the last time i tried: That gosh-darn birthstone puzzle!!

I got the first two gems alright (Sunstone and Garnet), but at the third one, i've tried every single gem in Timbermist Woods and around Brynn's home i could find (Peridot, Sapphire, Amethyst, Diamond, Onyx, Opal, Aquamarine and another Garnet just in case) and they were ALL rejected by the altar. Am i missing another gem or what? I really want to get that part of the game done and over with and i'm getting desperate!

The order is random, so it's hit and miss unfortunately.
What about Topaz or Pearl?
EDIT: also Ruby, but you can't get that one unless you already have Healing power.

Got it! I knew i missed a few gems on the way. Thanks.

I know about the random order of the second and third gem, but i kept missing specific gems that i couldn't find upon my first search throughout the first part of the game.

Word of advice to all who are dumbstruck by this puzzle: If the gems you have found so far are all rejected, don't call it quits just yet and keep searching.

I remember the first time I played burning a ton of gems at this puzzle. :) And good luck in serpents grotto

Not sure if this will help anyone else, but not all the gems are random... the first gem & the last gem are always the same, it's only the gems in between that change with each new game.

I remember the first time I played, I didn't know the two middle ones were random, and so I thought I had figured out a logical reason why the two gems were the ones and how they fit in to a sequence based off the seasons.

I was so confused the second play through when they were different. So many hours staring at the screen, second guessing myself...
