I'm only on level 3 and just have a noob question. Are some of the puzzles spread out? What I mean by that is, are there instances where I pull a lever and a door opens on the furthest point of the level? What about flicking a switch and then having to move between levels to see the effect?

I hope that makes sense.....I don't want to spend hours just roaming through floors when puzzles only apply to a limited region.

It's been a while since I played, but from what I recall just about all of the puzzles are fairly localized. There are some keys or items that you'll need to find in one part of the level to use in another part, but when it comes to switches and such you usually don't need to travel too far.

The few "distant" effects that exist are also usually hinted at in the notes (and equivalent) that you find in the area.
