I mean Toorum mode. Everything I see online about how to unlock it says you just need to get the "Friends with Toorum" achievement, which obviously this version does not have. I have found his bones and used them on the crystal and they sighed, but when I go to new game and name the first guy Toorum it doesn't become him. Do I really need to go find all the notes he left too? Because I'm missing one and have no idea where it is.

Nevermind, I figured out how to do it. I was doing it wrong. You just type Toorum as the name and hit enter and it will start as him. I was trying to click the "start game" button which was grayed out for me until I made a party of four. I was assuming after typing the name it would change to him instantly, but you hit enter go through the intro cutscene then when the game starts it'll be Toorum alone. Anyway I can't figure out how to delete this so here's the answer in case anyone else was wondering.

As to the mode being tied to an achievement - it definitely isn't. I believe once the requirement to unlock it is met (using his remains on a crystal), the game writes a text file into the save directory called "toorum_lives" which is essentially the check for whether he's playable or not. It's entirely possible to just drop the text file in there on your own if you're not the type to put the work in for it in the game itself.
