I'm trying to run a playthrough with my son hes 6 and intrested in the game...however the difficulty is a tad high for him. i was hopeing i could edit the cfg file and use console commands to make this easier for him. as it turns out i cannot seem to find this cfg file everyone is talking about...just a bunch of gogfiles. anyone know how i could access this file to edit the console cammands?

Is it not in your Documents directory (example - C:\Users\Owner\Documents\Almost Human\Legend of Grimrock 2\grimrock.cfg)?

Assuming you're running the Windows version at least.

sorry i took so very long getting back to this...just sat down on this stormy winter day with my son to play and here is your post...and yes it was exactly where you said it was. my issue was looking in the wrong area, i was looking under (C:/program files(x86)/galaxyclient/games/legend of grimrock II)
